How firm Is the Saatva Classic?
The Saatva Classic has three varying levels of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm. The answer to this question will depend on the individual’s experience and personal specific circumstances. If you’re looking to get firsthand information about the issue, we’ve put each one of three Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it performs on our scale of firmness which ranges from 1 to 10.
We began our experiment by sleeping on The Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve ranked as 3/10. The one thing that we’ve observed straight off the start is that it felt so comfortable while sleeping sideways facing the pillow the top. It was as if we were more likely to be in the body that’s Saatva Classic. Saatva Classic thanks to its soft foundation when compared to other models. However, that more malleable feel might not be a good fit with people who often rest flat, whether on the stomach or the back. Saatva Linear
Next up, we have the Firm variant which is a striking opposite to Plus Soft in terms of the materials used and the rigidity. We could barely feel our bodies sinking into the mattress – the version surely is up to the hype! This is particularly great for sleepers who lie flat on their backs or stomach because it provides more apparent support. Some users may take issues with sleeping on their sides. Yet, despite this, we give this rating a solid 8/10.
When we looked at the Luxury Firm version One of the first few things we noticed was how soft it felt on the top of the pillow. The coils which hold the mattress together are more firm, making this particular version of Saatva one that is mixed in design. In this case, as we lay flat on our backs We not only get the right amount of sinking and support, but also the sinking that we required. The same could be said for sleeping on the stomach, but how about side sleeping? Based on different personal experiences, it could be a bit of a hit or miss. That being said we rate our Luxury Firm mattress an 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale.
Testing using a variety of body weights
Apart from the firmness test, we’ve also experimented with the way different body weights react sleeping on three different versions that comprise the Saatva Classic. The first is our Plush Soft mattress. Made from the less durable coil base and a softer pillow top is no wonder that it’s a favorite among light-weights. People who weigh between 130 and 200 pounds might appreciate the body hugging and sinking feel of the Plush Soft, but heavyweights may find these to be an issue. Saatva Linear
The firm mattress might be too stiff for people with a weight of less than 175 pounds, but for those who weigh way above that, this model is likely to be the best alternative. With a more solid foundation all over, the Firm variant offers the most stable support when sleeping on the stomach or back, especially with heavyweights. People who weigh less might find sleeping on the bed a bit uncomfortable, with not enough soft foam surface to ease this.

For this Luxury Firm mattress, the majority of its features are adequate to cover a wide range of weight a person can carry. If you’re either someone who weighs 130 lbs and 250 pounds you’ll experience a sense peace and ease while sleeping on your back when you sleep on this kind of mattress. Stomach sleepers may enjoy too, but it could require more support for heavier folks. When it comes to side sleeping it’s generally suitable for all body weights, however it’s somewhat of a gamble.
Performance
What is the way that the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfer to durability and even how it reacts during intimacy, we delved further into the depths to test its capabilities. These is the result!
Motion Isolation and Transfer
The Saatva is not the best in terms of motion isolation when compared against other hybrid mattresses. The foam layer that makes up the mattress is less than half an inch, but the mattress still manages to absorb a significant degree of movement thanks to its ultra-modern fiber fill. The two more firm choices may not be able to isolate movements. The Plush Soft variant, however performs a bit better when compared to.
In a marriage, and you’re looking towards a mattress that one of you is moving and the other doesn’t even notice then it’s possible that the Saatva Classic may not be the best. We tested it for motion transfers We noticed how one of our group members gradually got distracted as soon as the other member started making movements – from minor to medium and finally high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses are known for their poor absorption of motion, and the Saatva is composed of innerspring parts. It’s also a poor choice for a mattress for you, particularly for those who sleep lightly who is frequently disturbed.
Pressure Relief
Pressure relief is the ability of the mattress to reduce the pressure felt at the body’s pressure points. We evaluated the Saatva’s tension relief levels by laying out an image of pressure on the surface. When we have the results, it has revealed that the mattress, with three different levels of firmness, provides stellar pressure relief at the back. In terms of hip and shoulder areas it can be different based on a variety of variables like the firmness level as well as personal circumstances and the weight. Saatva Linear

Temperature Control
Its Saatva Classic mattress may be numerous things, but we’re able to be more certain that this is one of the top ones with incredible cooling capabilities. It has two layers of spring coil, and one of them is pockets. The structure allows air to flow throughout the mattress, ultimately cooling those who normally sleep hot. It’s not just able to cool down temperatures however, the pillow’s cover is made from organic cotton, which makes the Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds that are made from memory foam. This is an ideal cooling mattress for anyone living in a tropical climate, or for couples who, if they share a bed, can are able to heat the bed faster than just one person can.
Edge Support
Edge support refers to how well those edges hold up. For the Saatva Classic, the edges are incredibly strong. After testing, we concluded that they’re robust enough to permit people to sleep near the edges without having to worry too much about sinkage, sagging and falling off of the bed. This is because of an encasement of foam that is wrapped around the coil layers inside the mattress. The sturdiness may vary depending on the firmness levels of the Saatva. Couples for instance, may not feel too much sliding on either the Firm or Luxe Firm options but may experience a bit of discomfort around the edges when using Plush Soft. Plush Soft. In addition those who weigh more might feel more sinkage than lightweight ones.
Sex
When you are with your spouse and have a sexually active relationship, it’s crucial to find the right mattress that responds with ease when being intimate with your partner. That’s where Saatva Classic comes in, with a solid combination of responsiveness and friction making fully optimized for a wide range of sexual actions. The top of the pillow conforms to bodies when they are in contact with the surface and the innerspring foundation allows the bed to be buoyant enough to allow for movement however not so loud as to create the irritating squeaking sound. The strong edge support allows couples to take enjoyment of the entire surface of the Saatva. Although the Plush Soft comfort level may offer a decent amount of traction for sex, it felt quite lacking when compared to its more rigid counterparts.
Off-gassing
Saatva Classic Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. But what sets it apart from others is how it doesn’t take up much part of the mattress. This means that it doesn’t smell as bad upon delivery and purchase. We received our Saatva mattresses to test we noticed that instead of the standard cardboard box delivery people from the delivery company came in to set the mattress for us. We also inspected the way it released less of the usual “fresh mattress smell” in comparison to similar mattresses and it went away quickly – this may be due to the way it was constructed. Saatva Linear
Easy of Movement
The Saatva has been shown to have a greater ease of movement than other hybrid mattresses, due to the unique combination of innersprings and polyfoam that is used as its structural foundation. The bed sticks against the physique of the user once they lie down on the ground and then recovers its original shape after they have left the bed. To compare, mattresses with the top of memory foam adhere to the body in the same way as typical, but the sensation of being trapped in comfort is much more apparent, making it a bit difficult for the user to leave.

Noise
The innerspring beds have received some bad rap over the years for their irritating noisesthat gradually become worse with each use. The Saatva Classic, on the contrary, doesn’t fit into this category. We’ve already mentioned that the mattress’s core is an encasement of foam that’s wrapped around the coil systems. This not only offers solid support along the edges, but also reduces the sound that coils usually make. When we tried out shifting positions and moving around the bed, we noticed how much less noise as well as squeaking produced. However, as that the Saatva mattress has coils supporting it it isn’t likely to have the noise-free capability to last forever.
Durability
Now that we managed to test all of the test of the performance with Saatva Classic, we can conclude that it is a great mattress. Saatva Classic mattress, the most important thing to consider is these questions: “How durable is the Saatva? How long will it be able be expected to endure?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and the structure and the way it performs when it comes to comfort, relief, and movement, the Saatva should be durable enough to last about 7-10 years.
Materials
The Saatva Classic is composed of at least four layers, each with distinct capabilities. However, when they’re put together, they form an extremely durable, strong, bouncy, and overall sturdy hybrid mattress that is suitable for any purpose. Let’s look at the different components and layers that make up the Saatva bed.
Layer 1 The Soft and Breathable Surface
The initial layer is a 3-inch-thick Euro pillow top used for the mattress’s bed surface. It’s made up of a mix of fiberfill, polyfoam and Dacron to create a soft and comfortable surface for you to lay down on. In both the Plush Soft and Luxury Firm models there is a 1.25-inch layer of soft polyfoam is used in the Soft option, in contrast, the Firm option utilizes 1.5″ worth of firm polyfoam.
The top is quilted using an exclusive Lumbar Zone Quilting pattern to offer much-needed relief from pressure on the back and hips. Organic cotton fabric is used to cover the pillowtop surface. Not only is it breathable and soft, but it also comes with antibacterial properties.
Layer 2: A Combination of Foam to Provide Enhanced Lumbar Support
In all three levels of firmness the support foam is inch thick and is placed under the first layer, creating a better lumbar support system. This special foam is composed of these components: more than half of the layer is made of polyfoam, while the rest is composed from memory foam. It is strategically placed along the center of the mattress. This allows your back and shoulders to align, without creating any discomfort that might arise. Saatva Linear

Layer 3: The Foam-encased Layer of Support
The Saatva’s third layer is a supportive layer as well as another of the coils that comprise the mattress. The 4-inch-thick, individually foam-wrapped micro coils is responsive enough to bind to various body shapes and constantly changing movements. It also allows for breezy air circulation, keeping the sleeper cool and away from becoming too hot.
Layer 4: The Sturdy Foundation Core
The underlying structure of all three layers is a foundation of durable hourglass steel coils beneath the three layers. Customers get to choose between two heights that are 4 inches for mattresses that measure 11.5″ or a 7-inch layer for 14.5″ mattresses. These coils help the foam-pocketed coils in producing an enhanced airflow system throughout the Saatva and the high-quality components must be strong enough to support heavier individuals and objects. Then, there is a foam perimeter encasement.
