How firm Is the Saatva Classic?
Saatva Classic Saatva Classic has three varying levels of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. The answer to this question is based on personal experience and conditions. If you’re looking to learn more about it from the inside We’ve put all three 3 Saatva Classic versions to the test to determine how they perform on our scale of firmness which ranges from 1 to 10.
We began our experiment with The Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve put at as 3/10. What we’ve seen straight off the bat is how it feels so comfy sleeping on its side, with the pillow on at the top. It was as if we were getting body-hugged by this version of Saatva Classic. Saatva Classic thanks to its more supple foundation than other models. But, the more flexible feel may not translate well for people who tend to sleep flat – either on their stomachs or their back. Saatva+++++
Next , we’ve got the Firm version, which is a stark opposite to Plus Soft in terms of the materials used and the rigidity. We barely felt our bodies sinking into the mattress – the version surely does live up to its name! This is particularly great for people who sleep on their backs or stomach because it provides more obvious support. Certain people might have problems regarding sleeping on the side. But despite this, we give this rating an excellent 8 out of 10.
When it came to the Premium Firm version, one of the first things we noticed was how soft the mattress felt on the top of the pillow. The coils, meanwhile, which keep the mattress in place are firmer, making this particular version of Saatva different in terms of design. As we lay on our backs and slept, we not only get the right amount of sinking, but also the support that we required. It’s the same with sleeping on the stomach, but for side sleeping? Depending on the different individual experiences of the person, this can be hit-or-miss. On that note, we give this Luxury Firm mattress a 6.5 out of 10 on the scale of firmness.
Testing with Varying Body Weights
In addition to the test for firmness, we’ve also experimented with the way different body weights respond when sleeping on three different versions of the Saatva Classic. Let’s start first with The Plush Soft mattress. Made from a less sturdy coil foundation , and a soft pillow top It’s not surprising that it’s a favorite among light-weights. People who weigh between 130 and 200 lbs may like the body hugging and sinking feel from this Plush Soft, but heavyweights might find them to be an issue. Saatva+++++
The firm mattress might be too stiff for those that weigh under 175 pounds, but in the case of those more than that, this mattress is likely to be the best option. With a sturdier foundation throughout the firm mattress, it provides much more reliable support when sleeping on your belly or the back especially among heavyweights. People who weigh less might find sleeping on the bed to be a bit uncomfortable, with the mattress not having enough soft foam to ease this.

With the Luxury Firm mattress, most of its features are enough to cater to a broad range of weight a person can carry. If you’re either someone who weighs 130lbs (or 250lbs), you’ll feel a sense of ease and comfort while lying flat on the back on this kind of mattress. Stomach sleepers may enjoy too, but it could require more support for those who weigh more. When it comes to side sleeping it’s generally suitable for all body weights, however it’s somewhat of a gamble.
Performance
How does the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfer to durability and even to how it performs in private moments. We dug further into the depths to test its performance levels. Here is the result!
Motion Isolation and Transfer
The Saatva is not the best in its motion isolation, as compared against other hybrid mattresses. The foam that is built into is only one-half inch, yet it is able to absorb an impressive amount of motion thanks to its state-of-the-art fiber fill. Two of the more firm options might not be effective in separating motions. Its Plush Soft variant, however performs a bit better in comparison.
If you’re in a romantic relationship, and you’re looking towards a mattress that one of you is moving and you don’t have to be able to tell it’s possible that it’s possible that the Saatva Classic may not be the ideal. As we tried it for motion transfers, we saw how one of our team members slowly got distracted as soon as the other member began making movements – from minor to medium and finally high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses are known for their poor absorption of motion, and the Saatva is made up of innerspring elements. It’s also a poor choice for a mattress particularly when you’re a light sleeper who’s frequently disturbed.
Pressure Relief
Pressure relief refers to the mattress’s capacity to relieve tension that is felt by the body’s pressure points. We determined the Saatva’s pressure relief levels by placing a pressure map on its surface. After receiving the results, it’s been discovered that the mattress with three different levels of firmness, offers excellent pressure relief at the back. For hip and shoulder points it can be different based on several factors, such as firmness level the individual’s situation, as well as weight. Saatva+++++

Temperature Control
Its Saatva Classic mattress may be numerous things, but we couldn’t deny that this is one of the top ones with stunning cooling abilities. It has two layers of the spring coil, one of which is pocketed. The structure allows air to circulate throughout the mattress, eventually cooling down individuals who usually are hot to sleep on. It’s not just in a position to reduce temperatures, but the pillow top’s cover is made of organic cotton, which makes Saatva Classic Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds that are made from memory foam. This is an ideal cooling mattress for people living in a tropical climate, or for couples who, when they sleep together, are able to heat the bed faster than just one person can.
Edge Support
Edge support refers to the strength of those edges hold up. In the case of Saatva Classic, the edge support is extremely strong. Saatva Classic, the edges hold up very remarkably. Upon testing, we ruled that they’re sturdy enough to allow individuals to sleep near the edges without worrying much about sagging, sinkage or falling off the bed. This is due to the foam encasement which is wrapped around the coil layers inside the mattress. The strength of the mattress can vary based on the level of firmness and the firmness of Saatva. Couples like this might not experience any sinking on the Firm or Luxe Firm alternatives, however they may feel a certain degree of discomfort at the edges of Plush Soft. Plush Soft. Additionally those who weigh more may experience more sinkage than lightweight ones.
Sex
If you and your partner are sexually active It is essential to choose a mattress that can respond effectively when sharing intimate moments. That’s where Saatva Classic comes in, with a solid combination of both responsiveness and friction making fully optimized for a wide range of sexual activities. The top of the pillow conforms to the body when in to the bed’s surface while the innerspring base causes the mattress to bounce enough to allow for movement however not so loud as to produce the annoying noise of squeaking. The firm edge support allows couples to take full enjoyment of the entire surface of the Saatva. Although this Plush Soft comfort level may provide average traction for sex but it did not feel as comfortable when compared to its more rigid counterparts.
Off-gassing
The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. However, what makes it stand out from the rest is that it doesn’t take up a lot of the mattress. It doesn’t smell as bad after delivery and purchase. As we were receiving the Saatva mattresses for testing We noticed that, instead of the usual cardboard box delivery the delivery staff arrived to set the mattress for us. We also examined whether it emits less of the usual ‘new mattress smell’ as compared to other mattresses, which went away quite quickly – this may be due to the way it was constructed. Saatva+++++
Ease of Movement
It is the Saatva has been found to be more comfortable in movement compared to other hybrid mattresses, thanks to the unique polyfoam/innerspring combination employed as the foundation for its structure. The bed sticks to the body of the user as they lay on the floor however it recovers its original shape when they get off of it. To compare, mattresses with the top of memory foam conform to the body per typical, but the sensation of being trapped in comfort’ is more prominent which makes it difficult for the person to leave.

Noise
Innerspring beds have made a bad rep through the years for their irritating noisesthat gradually become worse upon continuous use. Saatva Classic, however Saatva Classic, on the other hand, does not meet the criteria of this. We’ve already mentioned that the mattress’s structure is a foam encasement that’s been wrapped around coil systems. Not only does it provide solid support along the edges, but it also muffles out the noise coils usually create. As we experimented with changing positions and moving around the mattress, we noticed that less noise and squeaking were generated. However, since it is the Saatva mattress is supported by coils you shouldn’t expect the no-noise capability to last forever.
Durability
Now that we managed to try out all the tests of performance for Saatva Classic, we can conclude that it is a great mattress. Saatva Classic mattress, the only thing we have to consider is some of the questions below: “How durable is the Saatva? How long will it be able be expected to endure?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and structure, and how well it performs in regards to relief, comfort, and motion as well, the Saatva should be durable enough to last up to around 7 to 10 years.
Materials
The Saatva Classic is composed of at the very least four layers, each with unique abilities. When they are combined, they create solid, durable and bouncy sturdy hybrid mattress that is suitable for any use. Let’s take a close look at all the components and layers that compose the Saatva bed.
