From European design, we now move to the proudly New York-raised mattress company Nectar. Nectar is a company that promises to deliver a range of mattresses directly to your home. It was once regarded as one of America’s fastest-growing ebusinesses.
Nectar uses similar foam technologies to Puffy and provides different mattresses that expand its catalog of beds available. This expanded catalog will be the difference between Nectar and Puffy.
Types of Mattresses Available
Nectar has not 1, not 2, but 3 total mattresses available on its website for purchase, all with varying degrees of softness, plushness, and even material compositions. Already Nectar has Puffy beat with the number of choices, but it’s still to be determined if more choices equal a better mattress brand.
Nectar’s first mattress is their original Nectar Memory Foam 12-inch mattress. The five layers of this mattress are similar to the Puffy foam mattresses. The first layer of their mattress is their Nectar Smart Layer, a gel memory foam that helps alleviate pressure with its high-density construction.
The Nectar Smart Layer is then supported by two more foams, the Nectar Dynamic Support Layer and their Stay-Stable Support Layer. Both assist in stabilizing your body while you sleep, minimizing any motion transfer, and keeping the mattress in place on the bed base. All this is enveloped in Nectar’s quilted Cool Cover, which helps regulate temperature, and Nectar’s shift-resistant lower cover, which allows stability by acting as an outer grip to the bed frame. The Nectar Memory Foam mattress may be a good choice if you are looking for a mattress that is medium-firm and allows your body to be wrapped in memory foam as you sleep.

The premium versions are more expensive and will take more out of your pocket. The queen-sized Nectar Premier will set you back $1299, while you can get the more luxurious Nectar Premier Copper for $1699. These mattresses are still thicker than those offered by Puffy. We had to include Casper. Not including Casper would be like not including Coca-cola or Pepsi when making a list comparing what the best soft drink would be. Despite Casper’s price point being a common comparison for newer brands, it remains one of the top choices for most shoppers when looking for a new mattress.
Puffy makes Casper’s higher prices a reason to choose the Puffy mattress. Will Casper bow out to this newer Canadian brand?
There are many types of mattresses available
Casper offers four options to choose from instead of Puffy’s limited selections. Three of the variants have two variations each. Casper offers seven different mattresses, with three of them having two variants each.
Casper’s first mattress, a traditional foam mattress, uses two layers of foam to construct its entire construction. This is Casper’s entry level mattress. It is known as the Element mattress. Casper uses their proprietary Airscape perforated foam as the top layer of their mattresses to better let heat escape while you sleep. Below this is their high-density foam base that prevents sagging and supports your whole body while you rest.
Next up on the Casper catalog is the Casper Original. The Casper original uses three different layers of foam now, the first being the classic Airscape foam, which is then supported by their Zoned Support Memory Foam and the standard base support foam. The Zoned Support foam is unique in that it is an area-specific memory foam. This means that certain parts are firmer depending on what component requires more support.
What’s interesting is that you can get the Casper Original as a hybrid mattress. Hybrid mattresses have become more popular because they combine new memory foam technology and the reliable design of inner coils that are better than older mattresses.
