How firm is the Saatva Classic?
Saatva Classic Saatva Classic has three varying degrees of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. The answer to this question depends on the individual’s experience and personal circumstances. However, if you’d like to learn more about it from the inside We’ve put all three 3 Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it performs on our scale of firmness that ranges from 1-10.
We started our test by sleeping on the Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve ranked 3 out of 10. What we’ve seen right from the beginning is how it felt so comfortable while sleeping on its side, with the pillow on at the top. We felt like we were getting in the body of the Saatva Classic thanks to its more supple foundation than other ones. But, the more flexible feel may not translate well for those who lie flat, either on the stomach or the back. Matress Saatva
Then, we’ll have the Firm variant which is a striking opposite to Plus Soft in terms of material and stiffness. We barely felt our bodies sinking into the mattress. The version surely lives up to its name! This is particularly great for those who sleep flat on their backs or stomach since it provides more obvious support. Certain people might have problems regarding sleeping on their sides. But despite this, we give this rating an excellent 8/10.
When it came to the Luxury Firm version, one of the first things we noticed was how soft it was on the top of the pillow. The coils which hold the mattress together are firmer, making this version of Saatva mixed in terms of design. In this case, as we lay flat on our backs We not only have the proper amount of sinking and support, but also the sinking that we required. Similar results could be achieved for sleeping on the stomach, but how about side sleeping? Depending on the different personal experiences, it could be hit-or-miss. On that note, we give our Luxury Firm mattress an 6.5 out of 10 on the range of firmness.
Testing with varying body weights
Apart from the test of firmness, we’ve also experimented with the way different body weights react sleeping on three versions of the Saatva Classic. We’ll start with our Plush Soft mattress. It is made of a less sturdy coil foundation , and a soft pillow top is no wonder that it’s been favored among lightweights. People who weigh 130 to 200 pounds may appreciate the body-hugging and sinking feeling of Plush Soft. Plush Soft, but heavyweights might have an issue. Matress Saatva
The firm mattress could be too stiff for those that weigh under 175 pounds, however for those who weigh a lot more than that, this mattress is probably the more suitable option. With a sturdier foundation throughout the firm mattress, it provides much more solid support when sleeping on the belly or the back specifically with heavyweights. For those who weigh less, they might find sleeping on the bed somewhat uncomfortable, as there is the mattress not having enough soft foam to alleviate this.

With the Luxury Firm mattress, most of its attributes are sufficient to accommodate a variety of body weights. If you’re either one who weighs 130 pounds and 250 pounds you will experience a sense ease and comfort while lying flat on the back with this kind of mattress. Stomach sleepers can benefit from this as well, although it may require extra support for people who are heavier. For side sleepers it’s usually suitable for all body weights, but it’s a bit of a hit-or-miss.
Performance
How does the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfer to durability and even to how it performs in private moments. We dove further deep to test its performance levels. These are the results!
Motion Isolation and Transfer
The Saatva was lackluster in motion isolation compared against other hybrid mattresses. The foam that is built into is less than one-half inch, yet it is able to absorb a significant degree of motion thanks to its high-tech fiber fill. The two more firm choices may not be able to isolate movements. The Plush Soft variant, however is a bit better when compared to.
In a marriage and you’re looking forward to a mattress where one of you is moving and you don’t have to even notice it’s possible that you should consider the Saatva Classic may not be the best. When we tested it out for motion transfers We noticed how one of our team slowly got distracted as soon as the other member began moving – from minor to moderate , and then high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses have been notorious for their poor absorption of motion and the Saatva is made up of innerspring elements. It’s also a poor choice for a mattress for you, particularly when you’re a light sleeper who is frequently disturbed.
Pressure Relief
Pressure relief refers to the mattress’s capacity to relieve tension that is felt by the body’s pressure points. We evaluated the Saatva’s tension relief levels by drawing the map of pressure on the surface. When we have the results, it has been discovered that the mattress in three different levels of firmness offers excellent pressure relief at the back. As for the hip and shoulder points the relief can differ based on a variety of variables including the level of firmness the individual’s situation, as well as the weight. Matress Saatva

Temperature Control
The Saatva Classic mattress may be numerous things, but we couldn’t deny that this is one of the best that has incredible cooling capabilities. The mattress is made up of two layers of spring coil, one of which is wrapped in a pocket. This structural frame allows enough air to circulate throughout the mattress, ultimately cooling down individuals who usually are hot to sleep on. It’s not just capable of cooling temperatures and keep them cool, but the top of the pillow’s cover is made from organic cotton, making Saatva Classic Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds made with memory foam. It is a great cooling mattress for those who live in near-tropical conditions, and for couples who, when they sleep together, have a greater chance of heating the bed than one person could.
Edge Support
Edge support is the measure of how well the edges of the mattress can stand up to. In the case of the Saatva Classic, the edges are incredibly strong. Upon testing, we ruled that they were remarkably robust enough to permit people to lie on their edges without having to worry about sinkage, sagging, and falling off the mattress. This is because of an encasement of foam that is wrapped around the coil layers inside the mattress. The sturdiness may vary depending on the firmness level of the Saatva. Couples, for example, will not feel too much sliding when they choose between those with the Firm or Luxe Firm choices, but might feel a certain degree of discomfort around the edges when using Plush Soft. Plush Soft. Additionally those who weigh more will experience more sinkage than lightweight ones.
Sex
If you and your partner have a sexually active relationship It is essential to choose an appropriate mattress that will respond well when it comes to having intimate moments. Here’s the place where Saatva Classic comes in, with a solid combination of both flexibility and responsiveness, which makes it suitable for a range of sexual actions. The pillow top is shaped to the body when in proximity to its surface while the innerspring base causes the bed to be bouncy enough to allow for movements, but not too loud to create the irritating squeaking sound. The strong edge support allows couples to take benefit of the entire space of Saatva. While the Plush Soft comfort level may provide average sexual traction, it felt quite lacking when compared to its more rigid counterparts.
Off-gassing
The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. But what sets it apart from others is how it doesn’t take up much part of the mattress. This means that it doesn’t smell as bad upon purchase and delivery. As we were receiving the Saatva mattresses for testing We noticed that, instead of the typical cardboard box, delivery personnel arrived to put up the bed for us. We also inspected the way it released less of the usual ‘new mattress smell’ in comparison to similar mattresses and it went away quickly. This could be due to the way the mattress was made. Matress Saatva
Easy of Movement
It is the Saatva has been found to be more comfortable in movement compared to other hybrid mattresses, thanks to the interestingly unique combination of innerspring and polyfoam used as its structural foundation. The bed is fixed to the body of the user as they lay on the surface, but returns to its original form quickly when they get off of the bed. For comparison, mattresses with an upper layer of memory foam will adhere to the body in the same way as usual, but the feeling of being trapped in comfort is much more apparent, making it a bit difficult for the person to remove themselves.

Noise
The innerspring beds have received a bad rep through the years due to their annoying noises, which gradually get more pronounced with continued use. Its Saatva Classic, on the other hand, doesn’t fully meet the criteria of this. As we’ve mentioned earlier, the mattress’s inner structure contains the encasement of foam placed around the coils. It not only provides solid support around the edges, but it also muffles out the noise coils typically create. When we tried out shifting positions and moving around on the bed, we were amazed by how less noise and squeaking were produced. But since it is the Saatva mattress is supported by coils, you can’t count on the quiet capability to last forever.
Durability
After we’ve had the chance to conduct all performance tests with the Saatva Classic mattress, the most important thing to think about is some of the questions below: “How durable is the Saatva? What is the length of time it will be expected for to stand the test of time?” Considering the high-grade quality of the material and structure, and how well it performs in regards to comfort, relief and motion, the Saatva should be durable enough to last up to approximately 7-10 years.
Materials
The Saatva Classic is composed of at minimum four layers, each with distinct capabilities. However, when they’re taken together, they make an extremely durable, strong, bouncy, and overall sturdy hybrid mattress that can be used to serve any purpose. Let’s take a close review of the various elements and components that comprise the Saatva mattress.
Layer 1 Layer 1: A soft and breathable Surface
The initial layer is an inch-thick Euro pillow top, which is used for the mattress’s bed surface. It’s composed of a mixture of fiberfill, polyfoam and Dacron to provide a soft and comfortable surface to lay on. In both Plush Soft and Luxury Firm versions, there is a 1.25-inch thick layer of polyfoam soft is used in the Soft option, in contrast, the Firm option makes use of 1.5″ worth polyfoam with a firm texture.
This top quilt is made using a specially-made Lumbar Zone quilting design that is designed to provide the needed relief from pressure on the back and hips. Organic cotton material is used to cover the pillow’s top surface. It is not only breathable and soft, but it also has a lot of antibacterial qualities.
Layer 2: A Blend of Foam to Provide Enhanced Lumbar Support
For all three firmness levels the support foam is inch thick and is put under the initial layer, creating a superior support for the lumbar region. This particular foam is made of these components the majority of the layer is made of polyfoam. The remainder is made out of memory foam. It is strategically placed in the middle of the mattress, allowing that the spine to more align, without creating any discomfort. Matress Saatva

Layer 3: The Foam-encased Support Layer
The third layer of the Saatva is a supportive layer as well as one of the two coil systems that compose the mattress. This 4 inches-thick layer of foam-wrapped micro coils is responsive enough to bind to various body shapes and ever-changing movements. It also facilitates breezy air circulation, which keeps the sleeper cool and away from becoming too hot.
Layer 4: The Sturdy Foundation Core
Holding all three layers is a solid foundation made of hourglass steel coils beneath the three layers. Customers can choose between two heights of a 4-inch layer to fit mattresses measuring 11.5″ or a 7-inch layer for 14.5″ mattresses. These coils help the foam-pocketed coils in producing an increased airflow system within the Saatva and the high-quality components must be strong enough to withstand the weight of heavier people as well as objects. Then, there is a foam perimeter encasement.
