Firmness and Feel
When you are looking for the perfect mattress, firmness and feel are just some of its most important elements. How do you feel the Saatva Classic on your body? How firm Is the Saatva Classic?
Saatva Classic Saatva Classic has three varying levels of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. The answer to this question will depend on your personal experience and the conditions. If you’re looking to learn more about it from the inside we’ve put each one of three Saatva Classic versions to the test to determine how they perform on our firmness scale, which ranges from 1 to 10.
We started our test by sleeping on the Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve ranked as 3/10. The one thing that we’ve observed straight off the start is that it felt so comfortable while sleeping sideways facing the pillow top. We felt as if we were more likely to be the body hug by this model that’s the Saatva Classic thanks to its soft foundation when compared to other foundations. However, this more flexible feel may not translate well with people who often sleep flat – either on their stomachs or their back. Returning Saatva Mattress
Next up, we have the Firm version, which is a stark opposite to Plus Soft in terms of materials and rigidity. We could barely feel our bodies sink into the mattress. This model certainly is up to the hype! This is particularly great for people who sleep on their backs or stomach, as it offers much more visible support. Certain people might have problems when it comes to sleeping on the side. But despite this we rate this item an excellent 8 out of 10.
When we looked at the Luxury Firm version, one of the first few things we observed was how soft it was on the top of the pillow. The coils, meanwhile, that hold the mattress together are more firm, which makes this particular version of Saatva mixed in terms of design. As we lay flat on our backs and slept, we not only have the proper amount of sinking, but also the support that we required. Similar results could be achieved for sleeping on the stomach, but what about side sleeping? Based on your individual experiences of the person, this could be a bit of a hit or miss. On that note we rate this Luxury Firm mattress a 6.5 out of 10 scale of firmness.
Testing with Varying Body Weights
Apart from the test of firmness We’ve also analyzed the way different body weights react when sleeping on three versions of Saatva Classic. The first is The Plush Soft mattress. Made from a less sturdy coil foundation , and a soft pillow top is no wonder that it’s been favored among lightweights. Average-weighing folks between 130 to 200 pounds might appreciate the body-hugging and sinking feeling of Plush Soft. Plush Soft, but heavyweights may find these to be an issue. Returning Saatva Mattress
The Firm mattress may be too rigid for those that weigh under 175 pounds, but in the case of those more than that, this mattress is likely to be the best option. With a more solid foundation all over, the Firm variant offers much more reliable support when sleeping on your stomach or back, especially with heavyweights. For those who weigh less, they could find lying on the bed somewhat uncomfortable, as there is no soft foam surface to alleviate this.

In the case of the Luxury Firm mattress, the majority of its features are enough to accommodate a variety of body weights. If you’re one who weighs 130 pounds (or 250lbs), you’ll experience a sense ease and comfort while lying flat on the back with this type of mattress. Stomach sleepers might like the same, however it might require additional support for those who weigh more. For side sleepers it’s usually suitable for most body weights but it’s somewhat of a gamble.
Performance
What is the way that the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfers to endurance and even to how it behaves during intimacy, we dove further deep to test the performance of the Saatva Classic. Here is the result!
Motion Isolation and Transfer
The Saatva was lackluster in terms of motion isolation when in comparison with other hybrid mattress. The foam layer built within is only half an inch, but the mattress still manages to absorb a substantial amount of motion thanks to its ultra-modern fiber fill. The two more firm choices may not do well in isolating the motion. Its Plush Soft variant, however, fares a little better in comparison.
In a marriage and looking forward to a mattress where one of you is moving and the other would not be able to tell it’s possible that it’s possible that the Saatva Classic may not be the ideal. When we tested it out to see if it could transfer motion We noticed how one of our team slowly became distracted when the other member started doing movements, ranging from minimal to moderate and eventually high-intensity. Mattresses made of innersprings have been known for having poor motion absorption and the Saatva is composed of innerspring parts. It’s also a poor choice for a mattress particularly if you’re a light sleeper who is often disturbed.
Pressure Relief
Pressure relief refers to the mattress’s ability to relieve tension felt at the body’s pressure points. We evaluated the Saatva’s pressure relief levels by drawing an image of pressure on its surface. Upon receiving the results, it has revealed that the mattress, in three different firmnesses, gives excellent pressure relief in the back. As for the hip and shoulder areas the relief can differ based on a range of factors including the level of firmness as well as personal circumstances and weight. Returning Saatva Mattress

Temperature Control
Its Saatva Classic mattress may be plenty of things, but we couldn’t say that it’s one of the top ones with stunning cooling abilities. The mattress has two layers of the spring coil, one of which is pockets. The structural frame permits air to circulate through the mattress, ultimately cooling people who typically sleep hot. The Saatva Classic is not only capable of cooling temperatures and keep them cool, but the top of the pillow’s cover is made from organic cotton, making Saatva Classic Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds that are made from memory foam. This is the ideal cooling mattress for those who live in near-tropical conditions, and for couples that, if they are sleeping together, will heat the bed more quickly than just one person can.
Edge Support
Edge support is the measure of the strength of edge support is the way that the mattresses’ edges stand up to. For Saatva Classic, the edge support is extremely strong. Saatva Classic, the edges are incredibly strong. After testing, we concluded that they’re solid enough to allow people to lie on their edges without having to worry too much about sinkage, sagging and falling off of the bed. This is because of the foam encasement which is placed around the coils inside the mattress. The strength of the mattress can vary based on the firmness level of the Saatva. Couples like this might not experience any sinking when they choose between either the Firm or Luxury Firm choices, but might feel a certain degree of discomfort along the edges with those who choose the Plush Soft. Additionally, those who are heavier will feel more sinkage than lighter ones.
Sex
If you and your partner are both sexually active It is essential to choose the right mattress that responds well when it comes to sharing intimate moments. This is where the Saatva Classic comes in, with a strong combination of both flexibility and responsiveness, which makes it designed for a variety of sexual activities. The pillow top conforms to the bodies in close contact with the surface while the innerspring base causes the bed to be bouncy enough to permit movement but not loud enough to create the irritating squeaking sound. The firm edge support allows the couples to take full benefit of the entire area of Saatva. Although this Plush Soft comfort level may offer a decent amount of traction for sex however, it was a bit sluggish compared to its more firm counterparts.
Off-gassing
The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. However, the thing that sets it apart from others is how it doesn’t take up much in the bed. This means it won’t smell as bad upon purchase and delivery. We received our Saatva mattresses to test We noticed that, instead of the usual cardboard box people from the delivery company came in to set up the bed for us. We also checked how it emitted less of the usual “fresh mattress smell” than other similar ones and it went away quickly – this may be due to how it was built. Returning Saatva Mattress
Mobility
It is the Saatva has been proven to have a greater ease of movement when compared to other hybrid mattresses, due to the unique combination of innersprings and polyfoam that is employed as the foundation for its structure. The bed sticks with the shape of the user when they lay down on the surface, but regains its original shape quickly as soon as they leave the bed. For comparison, mattresses with an upper layer of memory foam will are shaped to fit the body as typical, but the sensation of being ‘trapped in a comfortable environment is stronger which makes it difficult for the user to leave.

Noise
The innerspring beds have received a bad rep through the years due to their annoying noisesthat gradually become more pronounced with continued use. Its Saatva Classic, on the other hand, does not meet the criteria of this. As we mentioned before, the mattress’s core is the encasement of foam placed around the coils. This not only offers solid support along the edges, but it also reduces the sound that coils normally create. When we tried out shifting positions and moving around on the bed, we were amazed by how there was less noise, squeak and buzz generated. However, since the Saatva mattress rests on coils it isn’t likely to have the noise-free capability to last forever.
Durability
Now that we managed to try out all the test of the performance with the Saatva Classic mattress, the only thing we need to ask are these questions: “How durable is the Saatva? How long will it be able for to stand the test of time?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and structure and the way it performs in regards to comfort, relief, and motion as well, the Saatva will be durable enough to last about 7-10 years.
Materials
The Saatva Classic is composed of at the very least four layers each of which has distinct capabilities. But when put together, they form a strong, durable, bouncy, and overall solid hybrid mattress that is suitable for any purpose. Let’s have a closer look at all the elements and components that make up the Saatva bed.
Layer 1: A Soft and Breathable Surface
The first layer is a 3-inch-thick Euro pillow top used for the mattress’s bed surface. It’s made up of a mix of polyfoam, fiberfill, and Dacron to create a soft and comfortable surface to lay on. In both the Plush Soft and Luxury Firm models it’s a 1.25-inch thick layer of polyfoam soft is used, and the Firm option makes use of 1.5″ worth of polyfoam with a firm texture.
This top quilt is made using an exclusive Lumbar Zone Quilting design to provide much-needed pressure relief on the hips and back. Organic cotton is used to cover the pillowtop surface. Not only is it soft and breathable, it also comes with antibacterial properties.
Layer 2: A Combination Foam for Enhanced Lumbar Support
In all three levels of firmness the support foam is inch thick and is placed under the first layer, creating a superior support for the lumbar region. This particular foam is made of these components majority of the layer is made of polyfoam, while the remaining part is made out of memory foam. It is placed strategically along the center of the mattress. This allows that the spine to more align, without creating any kind of discomfort that might arise. Returning Saatva Mattress

Layer 3: The Foam-encased Layer of Support
The third layer of the Saatva is a support layer, as well as it is one of two coils that comprise the mattress. This 4-inch-thick surface of individually foam-wrapped micro coils is responsive enough to bind to various body shapes and constantly changing movements. It also allows for breezy air circulation, which keeps the sleeping person cool and preventing them from getting too hot.
Layer 4: The Sturdy Foundation Core
The underlying structure of all three layers is the solid hourglass steel coils underneath them. Customers can choose between two heights that are 4 inches for mattresses that measure 11.5″ or 7-inch layers for 14.5″ mattresses. These coils help the foam-pocketed coils in producing an improved airflow system through the Saatva as well as the quality components must be strong enough to withstand the weight of heavier people and other objects. Around them is a strong foam perimeter encasement.
