Firmness and Feel
When it comes to searching for the right mattress, firmness and feel are among the essential factors. How do you feel the Saatva Classic on your body? How firm can the Saatva Classic?
The Saatva Classic has three varying degrees of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. The answer to this question will depend on the individual’s experience and personal circumstances. But if you want to learn more about it from the inside we’ve put each one of three Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it performs on our scale of firmness that ranges from 1-10.
We started our test using the Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve put at as 3/10. What we’ve seen right from the start is that it was extremely comfortable sleeping sideways facing the pillow top. It was as if we were more likely to be the body hug by this model that’s Saatva Classic. Saatva Classic thanks to its soft foundation when compared to other ones. But, the more flexible feeling might not work for people who tend to lie flat, either on their stomachs or on their back. Saatva For 150 Lbs
Then, we’ll have the Firm variant, which is a stark opposite to Plus Soft in terms of material and stiffness. It was hard to feel our bodies sink into the mattress. This version surely does live up to its name! This is especially great for people who sleep on their stomachs or backs, as it offers much more visible support. Some users may take issues when it comes to sleeping on the side. But despite this we rate this item an 8/10.
In the case of the Luxury Firm version One of the first things we noticed was how soft the mattress was on the top of the pillow. The coils which hold the mattress together are firmer, making this particular version of Saatva different in terms of design. When we lay flat on our backs, not only did we get the right amount of sinking and support, but also the sinking that we required. Similar results could be achieved with sleeping on the stomach, but for side sleeping? Based on your experience of each person’s, the situation can be a bit of a hit or miss. On that note, we give this Luxury Firm mattress an 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale.
Testing using a variety of body weights
In addition to the test for firmness, we’ve also experimented with the way different body weights react sleeping on three versions of Saatva Classic. The first is The Plush Soft mattress. Made out of a less sturdy coil foundation , and a softer pillow top is no wonder that it’s a favorite among light-weights. People who weigh between 130 and 200 pounds may appreciate the body hugging and sinking sensation of this Plush Soft, but heavyweights may find these to be an issue. Saatva For 150 Lbs
The firm mattress might be too stiff for those that weigh under 175lbs, but when you weigh a lot over that, this version is most likely the better choice. With a sturdier foundation throughout the firm mattress, it provides the most stable support when sleeping on the belly or the back particularly with heavyweights. For those who weigh less, they may find lying on the bed uncomfortable due to the mattress not having enough soft foam to ease this.

With the Luxury Firm mattress most of its attributes are sufficient to cover a wide range in bodyweights. If you’re either someone who weighs 130 lbs (or 250lbs), you’ll experience a sense peace and ease while sleeping on the back on this type of mattress. Stomach sleepers can benefit from this as well, although it might require additional support for those who weigh more. When it comes to side sleeping it’s usually suitable for most body weights but it’s somewhat unpredictable.
Performance
How does do the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfers to endurance and even to how it behaves during intimate moments, we dove deeper to determine its performance levels. These are the results!
Motion Isolation and Transfer
The Saatva did not stand out in its motion isolation, compared against other hybrid mattresses. The foam layer that makes up the mattress is only half an inch, but the mattress is still able to absorb a substantial amount of movement thanks to its ultra-modern fiber fill. Two of the more firm options might not be able to isolate the motion. Its Plush Soft variant, however performs a bit better when compared to.
In a marriage and looking at a mattress in which one of you is moving and the other would not notice for one bit then you should consider the Saatva Classic may not be the best. We tested it for motion transfer and we noticed that one of our team slowly lost focus as the other person started moving – from minor to moderate , and then high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses have been notorious for having poor motion absorption, and the Saatva is made up of innerspring components. It’s also an unsuitable mattress, especially for those who sleep lightly who is often disturbed.
Pressure Relief
Pressure relief refers to the mattress’s capacity to relieve tension felt at the body’s pressure points. We evaluated the Saatva’s tension relief levels by drawing a pressure map on its surface. When we have the results, it’s revealed that the mattress, in three different firmnesses, offers excellent pressure relief at the back. As for the shoulder and hip points, this can vary depending on several factors like the firmness level, personal circumstance, and the weight. Saatva For 150 Lbs

Temperature Control
The Saatva Classic mattress may be numerous things, but we can’t deny that this is one of the most comfortable with stunning cooling abilities. The mattress is made up of two layers of the spring coil, and one of them is pockets. The structure allows air to circulate throughout the mattress, ultimately cooling down individuals who usually sleep hot. The Saatva Classic is not only capable of cooling temperatures, but the pillow top’s cover is made of organic cotton, which makes it Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid mattresses made of memory foam. It is a great cooling mattress for anyone living in a tropical climate, or for couples who, when they share a bed, can heat the bed more quickly than one person could.
Edge Support
Edge support is the measure of how well those edges hold up. For Saatva Classic, the edge support is extremely strong. Saatva Classic, the edges hold up very remarkably. Upon testing, we ruled that they’re robust enough to permit people to sleep near the edges without having to worry about sinkage, sagging, and falling off the bed. This is due to a foam encasement that’s wrapped around the coil layers in the mattress. The sturdiness may vary depending on the level of firmness and the firmness of Saatva. Couples, for example, may not feel too much sinking when they choose between those with the Firm or Luxe Firm choices, but might feel a certain degree of discomfort around the edges when using the Plush Soft. Also, those who are heavier will experience more sinkage than light ones.
Sex
In the event that you or your companion are sexually active, it’s crucial to find the right mattress that responds with ease when being intimate with your partner. Here’s the place where Saatva Classic comes in, with a solid combination of flexibility and responsiveness, which makes it designed for a variety of sexual activities. The pillow top is shaped to bodies when they are in to the bed’s surface while the innerspring base causes the bed to be bouncy enough to allow for movements but not loud enough to produce the annoying squeaking sound. The strong edge support allows couples to take benefit of the entire surface of the Saatva. While it’s Plush Soft comfort level may provide average traction for sex however, it was a bit sluggish in comparison to its more robust counterparts.
Off-gassing
The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam, but what makes it stand out from the rest is that it doesn’t take up a lot of the mattress. It doesn’t smell as unpleasant upon the purchase and delivery. We received our Saatva mattresses for testing, we noticed how, instead of the usual cardboard box delivery, delivery personnel came in to set up the bed for us. We also inspected whether it emits less of the typical ‘new mattress smell’ as compared to other mattresses, which went away quite quickly – this may be due to the way it was built. Saatva For 150 Lbs
Mobility
The Saatva has been proven to have better ease of movement when compared to other hybrid mattresses due to the interestingly unique polyfoam/innerspring combination that is used to create its foundation. The bed sticks with the shape of the user when they lay down on the surface and then returns to its original form quickly as soon as they leave the bed. To compare, mattresses with a memory foam top are shaped to fit the body as typical, but the sensation of being trapped in comfort is stronger and makes it difficult for the person leave.

Noise
The innerspring beds have received some bad rap over the years due to their annoying noisesthat gradually become worse upon continuous use. Its Saatva Classic, on the other hand, doesn’t fully meet the criteria of this. As we’ve mentioned earlier, the mattress’s structure is a foam encasement that’s been wrapped around the coil systems. It not only provides solid support along the edges, but it also muffles out the noise coils usually produce. We tried shifting places and moving around the bed, we noticed how there was less noise, squeak and buzz generated. However, since the Saatva mattress is supported by coils, you shouldn’t expect the no-noise features to last long.
Durability
After we’ve had the chance to conduct all test of the performance for the Saatva Classic mattress, the only thing we have to ask are the following questions: “How durable is the Saatva? What is the length of time it will be able be expected to endure?” Considering the high-grade quality of the material and structure and the way it performs when it comes to comfort, relief, and movement and comfort, the Saatva is expected to be sturdy enough to last up to approximately 7-10 years.
Materials
The Saatva Classic is composed of at least four layers, each having distinctive capabilities. However, when they’re combined, they create a strong, durable, bouncy, and overall reliable hybrid mattress that is suitable for any purpose. Let’s have a closer look at all the layers and materials that compose the Saatva mattress.
Layer 1: A Soft and Breathable Surface
The first layer consists of three inches of thick Euro pillow top, which is used as the mattress’s sleeping surface. It’s composed of a mixture of polyfoam, fiberfill, and Dacron to provide a cushioned and comfortable area to lay on. The top is quilted using an exclusive Lumbar Zone Quilting pattern to offer much-needed relief from pressure on the hips and back. Organic cotton material is used to cover the pillow’s top surface. Not only is it soft and breathable, it also comes with antibacterial qualities.
Layer 2: A Blend of Foam to Provide Enhanced Lumbar Support
For all three firmness levels, an inch-thick support foam is placed under the first layer to create a much better lumbar support system. This special foam is composed of majority of the foam is made of polyfoam. The rest is composed from memory foam. It is placed strategically along the middle of the mattress.
