How firm is the Saatva Classic?
The Saatva Classic has three varying degrees of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. The answer to this question depends on the individual’s experience and personal specific circumstances. If you’re looking to get firsthand information about the issue, we’ve put each one of three Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it fares on our firmness scale, which ranges from 1 to 10.
We started the experiment off using our Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve ranked as 3/10. One thing we’ve noticed right off the bat is how it felt so comfortable while sleeping sideways facing the pillow the top. It was as if we were closer to getting the body hug by this model of the Saatva Classic thanks to its soft foundation when compared to other foundations. But, the more flexible feel might not be a good fit for those who lie flat, either on their stomachs or on their back. Saatva Mattress Durability Issues
Then, we’ll have the Firm variant, which is a stark difference to Plus Soft in terms of materials and rigidity. We could barely feel our bodies sink into the mattress. This model certainly does live up to its name! It is particularly beneficial for those who sleep flat on their stomachs or backs because it provides more apparent support. Certain people might have problems with sleeping on their sides. Yet, despite this we rate this product a solid 8 out of 10.
When it came to this Luxury Firm version One of the first few things we noticed was how soft the mattress felt on the top of the pillow. The coils, meanwhile, that hold the mattress together are more firm, making this particular version of Saatva one that is mixed in design. When we lay flat on our backs and slept, we not only get the right amount of sinking and support, but also the sinking that we required. It’s the same when sleeping on your stomach, but how about side sleeping? Based on your personal experiences, it may be unpredictable. That being said, we give the Luxury Firm mattress a 6.5 out of 10 scale of firmness.
Testing using a variety of body weights
Apart from the firmness test We’ve also analyzed the way different body weights react sleeping on three variations of the Saatva Classic. The first is The Plush Soft mattress. Made out of the less durable coil base and a soft pillow top, it’s no wonder why it’s a favorite among light-weights. People who weigh between 130 and 200 pounds may appreciate the body hugging and sinking sensation of this Plush Soft, but heavyweights might have an issue. Saatva Mattress Durability Issues
The Firm mattress may be too stiff for those that weigh under 175lbs, but in the case of those a lot more than that, this mattress is probably the more suitable choice. With a sturdier foundation throughout the firm mattress, it provides the most stable support when sleeping on the side or on the back especially for those who weigh a lot. For those who weigh less, they may find lying on their bed somewhat uncomfortable, as there is not enough soft foam surface to alleviate this.

In the case of the Luxury Firm mattress the majority of its features are adequate to cater to a broad range of weight a person can carry. If you’re either someone who weighs 130 lbs and 250 pounds you’ll find a sense of ease and comfort while lying flat on your back when you sleep on this kind of mattress. Stomach sleepers may enjoy this as well, although it might require additional support for people who are heavier. When it comes to side sleeping it’s generally suitable for all body weights, but it’s somewhat unpredictable.
Performance
What is the way that do the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfers to durability and even to how it behaves during intimate moments, we dove further into the depths to test its capabilities. These are the results!
Motion Isolation and Transfer
The Saatva was lackluster in its motion isolation, in comparison against other hybrid mattresses. The foam that is built into is thinner by only half an inch, but the mattress still manages to absorb a substantial amount of motion due to its state-of-the-art fiber fill. The two firmer options may not do well in isolating motions. Its Plush Soft variant, however, fares a little better when compared to.
In a marriage, and you’re looking forward to a mattress where one of you moves and you don’t have to notice for one bit it’s possible that the Saatva Classic may not be the ideal. When we tested it out for motion transfer, we saw how one of our team slowly got distracted as soon as the other person started doing movements, ranging from minimal to moderate and eventually high-intensity. Mattresses made of innersprings have been known for having poor motion absorption, and the Saatva is composed of innerspring parts. It could be an unsuitable mattress for you, particularly when you’re a light sleeper who’s often disturbed.
Pressure Relief
Pressure relief is the ability of the mattress to reduce the pressure felt at the body’s pressure points. We determined the Saatva’s pressure relief levels by drawing an image of pressure on the surface. After receiving the results, it’s revealed that the mattress, in three different firmnesses, offers excellent pressure relief at the back. For hip and shoulder points the relief can differ based on several factors including the level of firmness, personal circumstance, and weight. Saatva Mattress Durability Issues

Temperature Control
Its Saatva Classic mattress may be numerous things, but we’re able to say that it’s one of the best with incredible cooling capabilities. The mattress has two layers of the spring coil. One of these is pockets. The structural frame permits air to circulate throughout the mattress, ultimately cooling those who normally sleep hot. The Saatva Classic is not only in a position to reduce temperatures and keep them cool, but the top of the pillow’s cover is made from organic cotton, which makes Saatva Classic Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds made with memory foam. This is an ideal cooling mattress for those who live in a tropical climate, or for couples that, if they share a bed, can have a greater chance of heating the bed than just one person can.
Edge Support
Edge support is the measure of how well the edges of the mattress hold up. In the case of the Saatva Classic, the edges remain in great shape. In our tests, we found that they were noticeably solid enough to allow people to lie on their edges without worrying much about sagging, sinkage or falling off the bed. This is because of a foam encasement that’s secured around the coil layers within the mattress. The durability can differ based on the firmness levels and the firmness of Saatva. Couples like this will not feel too much sliding on those with the Firm or Luxury Firm options but may experience a bit of discomfort at the edges of Plush Soft. Plush Soft. Additionally those who weigh more may experience more sinkage than lighter ones.
Sex
If you and your partner are both sexually active, it’s crucial to find a mattress that can respond effectively when having intimate moments. That’s where Saatva Classic comes in, offering a great combination of responsiveness and friction making fully designed for a variety of sexual activities. The pillow top is shaped to the body when in contact with the surface while the innerspring base causes the bed to be bouncy enough to allow for movement however not so loud as to create the irritating squeaking sound. The firm edge support allows couples to take full advantage of the whole surface of the Saatva. Although this Plush Soft comfort level may provide average traction for sex but it did not feel as comfortable in comparison to its more robust counterparts.
Off-gassing
The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. However, the thing that sets it apart from the rest is that it doesn’t occupy a large portion of the mattress. This means that it doesn’t smell as bad upon delivery and purchase. We received our Saatva mattresses for testing, we noticed how, instead of the standard cardboard box the delivery staff came in to set up the bed for us. We also inspected whether it emits less of the typical “new mattress” smell as compared to other mattresses, which went away quite quickly – this may be due to how the mattress was made. Mobility
It is the Saatva has been shown to have better ease of movement than other hybrid mattresses, thanks to the unique combination of innerspring and polyfoam that is used to create its foundation. The bed is fixed against the physique of the person once they lie down on the floor however it returns to its original form quickly as soon as they leave it. To contrast, mattresses that have a memory foam top conform to the body per usual, but the feeling of being ‘trapped in comfort is stronger and makes it difficult for the user to leave.

Noise
Innerspring beds have earned themselves a bad rep through the years due to their annoying noises, which gradually get worse upon continuous use. Saatva Classic, however Saatva Classic, on the other hand, does not fit into this category. As we mentioned before, the mattress’s inner structure contains the encasement of foam wrapped around the coil systems. This not only offers solid support around the edges, it also blocks out the sounds that coils normally make. We tried shifting positions and moving around on the bed, we noticed how there was less noise, squeak and buzz were produced. However, since it is the Saatva mattress rests on coils, you can’t count on the quiet capability to last forever.
Durability
We’ve managed to test all of the test of the performance with Saatva Classic, we can conclude that it is a great mattress. Saatva Classic mattress, the most important thing to think about is these questions: “How durable is the Saatva? What is the length of time it will be able to last?” Considering the high-grade quality of the material and structure and the way it performs in regards to comfort, relief, and motion, the Saatva is expected to be sturdy enough to last up to around 7 to 10 years.
Materials
The Saatva Classic is composed of at least four layers, each having distinct capabilities. But when put together, they form solid, durable and bouncy sturdy hybrid mattress that can be used for any use.
