Firmness and Feel

How firm is the Saatva Classic?
The Saatva Classic has three varying degrees of firmness: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm. Answering this query will depend on personal experience and circumstances. But if you want to learn more about it from the inside we’ve put each of the three Saatva Classic versions to the test to determine how they perform on our scale of firmness, ranging from 1 to 10.
We started our test using the Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve put at as 3/10. The one thing that we’ve observed straight off the beginning is how it felt so comfortable while sleeping sideways facing the pillow at the top. We felt like we were getting in the body of the Saatva Classic thanks to its more supple foundation than other foundations. But, the more flexible feel may not translate well for those who sleep flat – either on their stomachs or their back. Saatva Amalfi
Next , we’ve got the Firm variant which is a striking opposite to Plus Soft in terms of material and stiffness. We could barely feel our bodies sink into the mattress. The model certainly lives up to its name! It is particularly beneficial for those who sleep flat on their stomachs or backs since it provides more obvious support. Some users may take issues with sleeping on the side. But despite this we rate this item a solid 8 out of 10.
When it came to the Premium Firm version one of the initial few things we noticed was how soft the mattress felt on the pillow top. The coils, meanwhile, which hold the mattress together are more firm, making this version of Saatva different in terms of construction. As we lay down flat on our backs, not only did we get the right amount of sinking as well as the support that we required. The same could be said with sleeping on the stomach, but for side sleeping? Depending on the different individual experiences of the person, this can be hit-or-miss. On that note, we give this Luxury Firm mattress an 6.5 /10 on the firmness scale.
Testing with Varying Body Weights
Apart from the test of firmness We’ve also analyzed the way different body weights react when sleeping on three variations of Saatva Classic. Let’s start first with The Plush Soft mattress. Made from a less sturdy coil base and a softer pillow top is no wonder that it’s been favored among lightweights. People who weigh between 130 and 200 pounds might appreciate the body-hugging and sinking feeling of this Plush Soft, but heavyweights may find these to be an issue. Saatva Amalfi
The firm mattress could be too stiff for those that weigh under 175 pounds, but when you weigh way above that, this model is most likely the better option. With a more solid foundation all over, the Firm variant offers much more solid support when it comes to sleeping on the stomach or back, particularly among heavyweights. People who weigh less might find sleeping on their bed somewhat uncomfortable, as there is not enough soft foam surface to alleviate this.

With the Luxury Firm mattress most of its features are enough to cover a wide range in bodyweights. If you’re someone who weighs 130 lbs or 250 pounds, you’ll experience a sense ease and comfort while lying flat on your back when you sleep on this type of mattress. Stomach sleepers might like too, but it could require more support for those who weigh more. When it comes to side sleeping it’s usually suitable for all body weights, but it’s somewhat unpredictable.
Performance
What is the way that do the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfer to durability and even how it behaves during intimacy, we dove further into the depths to test its capabilities. Here these are our findings!
Motion Isolation and Transfer
The Saatva did not stand out in terms of motion isolation when in comparison to other hybrid mattresses. The foam layer built within is only half an inch, however the mattress still manages to absorb an impressive amount of movement thanks to its high-tech fiber fill. The two more firm choices may not do well in isolating motions. The Plush Soft variant, however is a bit better in comparison.
If you’re in a relationship and looking towards a mattress that one of you is moving and the other doesn’t notice for one bit it’s possible that you should consider the Saatva Classic may not be the best. When we tested it out for motion transfer We noticed how one of our team members slowly became distracted when the other member started doing movements, ranging from minimal to moderate , and then high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses have been notorious for having poor motion absorption, and the Saatva happens to be composed of innerspring components. It’s also an unsuitable mattress particularly when you’re a light sleeper who’s easily disturbed.
Pressure Relief
Pressure relief refers to the mattress’s capacity to relieve tension felt at the body’s pressure points. We evaluated the Saatva’s pressure relief levels by placing an image of pressure on its surface. Upon receiving the results, it has revealed that the mattress, in three different firmnesses, provides stellar pressure relief at the back. For shoulder and hip points it can be different based on a variety of variables, such as firmness level, personal circumstance, and weight. Saatva Amalfi

Temperature Control
Its Saatva Classic mattress may be many things, but we couldn’t be more certain that this is one of the best that has incredible cooling capabilities. The mattress has two layers of the spring coil, one of which is pockets. The structure allows air to circulate throughout the mattress, ultimately cooling down individuals who usually rest hot. The Saatva Classic is not only able to cool down temperatures however, the pillow’s cover is made of organic cotton, which makes Saatva Classic Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid mattresses made of memory foam. This is the ideal cooling mattress for those who live in tropical conditions and for couples who, if they are sleeping together, will heat the bed more quickly than a single person.
Edge Support
Edge support is the measure of the strength of edge support is the way that the mattresses’ edges can hold up. In the case of the Saatva Classic, the edges are incredibly strong. Upon testing, we ruled that they were noticeably sturdy enough to allow individuals to lie on their edges without having to worry much about sagging, sinkage or falling off the bed. This is due to a foam encasement that’s secured around the coil layers within the mattress. The durability can differ based on the level of firmness of the Saatva. Couples like this will not feel too much sliding on the Firm or Luxury Firm alternatives, however they may experience a bit of discomfort around the edges when using Plush Soft. Plush Soft. Additionally those who weigh more may experience more sinkage than lightweight ones.
Sex
In the event that you or your companion are sexually active It is essential to choose a mattress that can respond with ease when sharing intimate moments. This is where the Saatva Classic comes in, with a solid combination of both flexibility and responsiveness, which makes it suitable for a range of sexual activities. The top of the pillow conforms to bodies when they are in contact with the surface and the innerspring foundation allows the bed to be buoyant enough to permit movement, but not too loud for the annoying noise of squeaking. The strong edge support allows couples to take benefit of the entire space of Saatva. Although it’s Plush Soft comfort level may provide average sexual traction, it felt quite lacking compared to its more firm counterparts.
Off-gassing
Saatva Classic Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. However, what sets it apart from other mattresses is the fact that it doesn’t take up much part of the mattress. This means that it doesn’t smell as bad upon the purchase and delivery. We received our Saatva mattresses to test we noticed that instead of the standard boxes of cardboard the delivery staff arrived to set up the bed for us. We also inspected whether it emits less of the usual ‘new mattress smell’ than other similar ones and it went away quickly. This could be due to the way it was built. Saatva Amalfi
Mobility
The Saatva has been proven to have better ease of movement than other hybrid mattresses due to the intriguingly unique polyfoam/innerspring combination used as its structural foundation. The bed sticks to the body of the user when they lay down on the ground and then regains its original shape quickly as soon as they leave the bed. To compare, mattresses with an upper layer of memory foam will adhere to the body in the same way as typical, but the sensation of being trapped in comfort is stronger and makes it difficult for the user to leave.

Noise
Innerspring beds have made some bad rap over the years for making annoying noises, which gradually get more pronounced with continued use. The Saatva Classic, on the other hand, doesn’t fully fit into this category. As we mentioned before, the mattress’s core is a foam encasement that’s been wrapped around the coil systems. This not only offers solid support at the edges, but it also muffles out the noise coils typically produce. When we tried out shifting positions and moving around on the bed, we were amazed by how much less noise as well as squeaking produced. However, as the Saatva mattress has coils supporting it, it isn’t likely to have the noise-free features to last long.
Durability
We’ve managed to try out all the performance tests on the Saatva Classic mattress, the most important thing to consider is these questions: “How durable is the Saatva? What is the length of time it will be able to last?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and the structure, and how well it performs when it comes to comfort, relief and motion as well, the Saatva should be durable enough to last up to around 7 to 10 years.
Materials
Saatva Classic Saatva Classic is composed of at least four layers each of which has unique abilities. When they are combined, they create a strong, durable and bouncy reliable hybrid mattress that can be used for any purpose. Let’s have a closer review of the various components and layers that make up the Saatva mattress.

Layer 2: A Combination of Foam for Enhanced Lumbar Support
Across all three firmness levels, an inch-thick support foam is placed under the first layer to provide a more enhanced support for the lumbar region. Layer 3: The Foam-encased Support Layer
The third layer of the Saatva is a support layer, as well as it is one of two coils that comprise the mattress. This 4-inch-thick surface of individually foam-wrapped micro coils is responsive enough to adhere to various body shapes and ever-changing movements. It also facilitates breezy air circulation, keeping the sleeper cool and away from getting too hot.
Layer 4: The Sturdy Foundation Core
Holding all three layers is a solid foundation made of hourglass steel coils beneath them. Customers can choose between two different heights: a 4-inch layer for mattresses that measure 11.5″ or 7-inch for 14.5″ beds. These core coils aid the coils with pockets of foam to create an enhanced airflow system throughout the Saatva and the high-quality components are strong enough to handle heavier persons as well as objects.
