How firm Is the Saatva Classic?
The Saatva Classic has three varying firmnesses: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm. The answer to this question is based on the individual’s experience and personal circumstances. However, if you’d like to learn more about it from the inside We’ve put all three one of three Saatva Classic versions to the test to see how it performs on our scale of firmness, ranging from 1 to 10.
We started our test by sleeping on the Plush Soft mattress, which we’ve rated three out of ten. What we’ve seen straight off the bat is how it feels so comfy sleeping on its side, with the pillow on at the top. We felt like we were closer to getting body-hugged by this version that’s the Saatva Classic thanks to its soft foundation when compared to other models. However, that more malleable feeling might not work with people who often sleep flat – either on the stomach or the back. Saatva N3
Next , we’ve got the Firm version which is a striking opposite to Plus Soft in terms of material and stiffness. We barely felt our bodies sink into the mattress. This model certainly is up to the hype! This is particularly great for those who sleep flat on their stomachs or backs because it provides more apparent support. Some people may have issues with sleeping on their sides. Yet, despite this we rate this item an excellent 8/10.
When it came to the Luxury Firm version, one of the first things we observed was how soft it felt on the pillow top. The coils, meanwhile, which keep the mattress in place are more firm, which makes this version of Saatva different in terms of design. As we lay down flat on our backs and slept, we not only receive the correct amount of sinking and support, but also the sinking that we needed. The same could be said with sleeping on the stomach, but what about side sleeping? Based on different individual experiences of the person, this can be a bit of a hit or miss. On that note we rate this Luxury Firm mattress a 6.5 out of 10 on the scale of firmness.
Testing with varying body weights
Apart from the firmness test, we’ve also experimented with how different body weights react when sleeping on three variations of Saatva Classic. We’ll start with The Plush Soft mattress. Made from the less durable coil foundation and an even soft pillow top It’s not surprising that it’s been popular with light weights. People who weigh 130 to 200 lbs may like the body-hugging and sinking feeling that comes with Plush Soft. Plush Soft, but heavyweights might have an issue. Saatva N3
The firm mattress could be too stiff for those that weigh under 175 pounds, however in the case of those a lot over that, this version is likely to be the best choice. With a more solid foundation all over the firm mattress, it provides much more solid support when sleeping on the belly or the back specifically among heavyweights. For those who weigh less, they might find sleeping on the bed to be somewhat uncomfortable, as there is no soft foam surface to alleviate this.

With this Luxury Firm mattress, most of its features are adequate to cover a wide range in bodyweights. If you’re someone who weighs 130 lbs or 250 pounds, you’ll find a sense of peace and ease while sleeping on the back on this kind of mattress. Stomach sleepers can benefit from this as well, although it might require additional support for heavier folks. In terms of side sleeping it’s generally suitable for most body weights however it’s somewhat unpredictable.
Performance
What is the way that the Saatva Classic fare in terms of performance? From motion transfer to durability and even how it behaves during intimacy, we dug further deep to test the performance of the Saatva Classic. Here is the result!
Motion Isolation and Transfer
The Saatva was lackluster in its motion isolation, compared with other hybrid mattress. The foam layer that makes up the mattress is less than half an inch, but the mattress still manages to absorb an impressive amount of motion thanks to its high-tech fiber fill. Two of the more firm options might not be able to isolate the motion. Its Plush Soft variant, however is a bit better in comparison.
If you’re in a relationship and looking forward to a mattress where one of you is moving and the other doesn’t be able to tell, the Saatva Classic may not be the best. When we tested it out for motion transfers, we saw how one of our team members slowly lost focus as the other member began doing movements, ranging from minimal to moderate , and then high-intensity. Innerspring mattresses are known for their poor absorption of motion and the Saatva is composed of innerspring components. It may as well be an unsuitable mattress particularly when you’re a light sleeper who’s easily disturbed.
Pressure Relief
Pressure relief refers to the mattress’s ability to relieve tension felt at the body’s pressure points. We determined the Saatva’s pressure relief levels by drawing an image of pressure on the surface. After receiving the results, it’s been discovered that the mattress in three different firmnesses, offers excellent pressure relief at the back. As for the hip and shoulder points, this can vary depending on several factors including the level of firmness as well as personal circumstances and weight. Saatva N3

Temperature Control
The Saatva Classic mattress may be many things, but we’re able to be more certain that this is one of the most comfortable with stunning cooling abilities. It has two layers of the spring coil, one of which is pockets. This structural frame allows enough air to circulate through the mattress, ultimately cooling people who typically rest hot. Not only is it able to cool down temperatures and keep them cool, but the top of the pillow’s cover is made from organic cotton, making it Saatva Classic more breathable than other hybrid beds made with memory foam. This is an ideal cooling mattress for those who live in a tropical climate, or for couples who, when they sleep together, are able to heat the bed faster than one person could.
Edge Support
Edge support is the measure of how well the edges of the mattress hold up. For Saatva Classic, the edge support is extremely strong. Saatva Classic, the edges are incredibly strong. After testing, we concluded that they were noticeably robust enough to permit people to lie on their edges without worrying too much about sinkage, sagging or falling off the bed. This is due to a foam encasement that’s placed around the coils in the mattress. The durability can differ based on the firmness level that are present in the Saatva. Couples for instance, will not feel too much sinking on those with the Firm and Luxury Firm options but may be able to feel a little discomfort at the edges of the Plush Soft. Also heavier people may experience more sinkage than lighter ones.
Sex
When you are with your spouse and are sexually active it is crucial to find an appropriate mattress that will respond effectively when sharing intimate moments. That’s where Saatva Classic comes in, with a strong combination of both the ability to respond and friction, making it designed for a variety of sexual activities. The top of the pillow conforms to the body when in contact with the surface, and the innerspring foundation allows the bed to be bouncy enough to allow for movements however not so loud as to produce the annoying squeaking sound. The strong edge support allows the couples to take full advantage of the whole surface of the Saatva. Although it’s Plush Soft comfort level may offer a decent amount of traction for sex, it felt quite lacking compared to its more firm counterparts.
Off-gassing
The Saatva Classic is made out of synthetic foam. However, what sets it apart from other mattresses is the fact that it doesn’t take up a lot of the mattress. It doesn’t smell as bad upon delivery and purchase. When we received the Saatva mattresses to test we noticed that instead of the usual cardboard box people from the delivery company came in to set the mattress for us. We also examined the way it released less of the usual “new mattress” smell than other similar ones that went away quickly – this may be due to how it was constructed. Saatva N3
Mobility
Saatva Saatva has been shown to be more comfortable in movement compared to other hybrid mattresses, due to the interestingly unique polyfoam/innerspring combination employed as the foundation for its structure. The bed sticks against the physique of the user once they lie down on the floor however it returns to its original form quickly as soon as they leave it. For comparison, mattresses with the top of memory foam adhere to the body in the same way as usual, but the feeling of being ‘trapped in a comfortable environment’ is more prominent and makes it difficult for the person remove themselves.

Noise
Innerspring beds have earned themselves an unpopular image over the years for making annoying noisesthat gradually become worse upon continuous use. Its Saatva Classic, on the other hand, doesn’t fully meet the criteria of this. As we mentioned before, the mattress’s inner structure contains an encasement of foam that’s wrapped around the coil systems. It not only provides solid support around the edges, but it also muffles out the noise coils usually produce. We tried changing positions and moving around the bed, we were amazed by how much less noise as well as squeaking were generated. However, as that the Saatva mattress has coils supporting it, you can’t count on the quiet features to last long.
Durability
We’ve managed to conduct all performance tests for the Saatva Classic mattress, the only thing we need to think about is these questions: “How durable is the Saatva? What is the length of time it will be able for to stand the test of time?” Considering the high-grade quality of the materials and the structure, and how well it is able to perform when it comes to comfort, relief, and motion, the Saatva should be durable enough to last up to approximately 7-10 years.

Saatva Classic Saatva Classic is composed of at the very least four layers, each having unique abilities. But when combined, they create solid, durable, bouncy, and overall solid hybrid mattress that is suitable for any use.
